Every year offers special event highlights that are well worth a visit. We at PGSA are well informed about what is happening where and when. We are happy to integrate these highlights from art, culture, sport or other topics of your choice into your itinerary, enriching your agenda with special experiences.

2026 - Christmas Markets

Immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere of Swiss Christmas Markets. From late November to late December, Christmas markets across the country enchant their visitors.

19 November – 23 December: Zurich Over200 festively decorated shops, around 70 market stalls and magical fireworks await the visitor.
19 November – 24 December: Montreux Experience the magic of Christmas on Lake Geneva and see Santa Claus flying through the air.
26 November – 23 December: Basel This Christmas market is considered one of the most beautiful and largest in Switzerland.

2026/2027 - Zurich

01 November – 28 February: Zurich Fondue Tram Enjoy a leisurely sightseeing tour through the city aboard a nostalgic vintage tram, complete with culinary specialties from Graubünden. As Zurich passes by outside the window, you’ll be served a fondue made with authentic Graubünden mountain cheese, as well as typical Graubünden appetizers and desserts.

2026/2027 - Basel

24 October – 10 November: Basel Autumn Fair With its centuries-old tradition, the Basel Autumn Fair is an integral part of the city of Basel’s vibrant cultural heritage. As Switzerland’s largest amusement fair and one of Europe’s largest downtown fairs, it delights visitors of all ages. From Barfüsserplatz to Messeplatz, from Petersplatz to the Münster: At seven locations, you can experience breathtaking rides, game booths, and food and merchandise stands.
15 February – 17 February: Basel carnival. This UNESCO Intangible World Heritage Site always begins on the Monday after Ash Wednesday and lasts for three days. People celebrate, laugh and enjoy themselves.

2026/2027 - Berne

31 October: Cheese Festival A special highlight in Switzerland’s capital is a visit to the Cheese Festival. Cheesemakers from the region proudly present their golden-yellow treasures from their cheese cellars. Enjoy a wide variety of cheeses. The festival features a folklore program. Of course, there’s no shortage of fun and games either. Ambitious participants will get their money’s worth at the cow-milking competition. Refreshments are also provided to recharge after the “effort.”
Until 03 December 2027: Barry – the legendary St. Bernard dog Barry, the world's most famous rescue dog, died 200 years ago. He remains a legend to this day. Barry can be admired at the Natural History Museum in Berne in a new exhibition which showcases the heroic deeds of the St. Bernard dog from the Great St. Bernard Pass. But which stories are true and which are myths? The exhibition reveals the whole truth. A wonderful experience for the whole family.

2026/2027 - Lucerne

20 November – 23 December: Rudolf‘ Christmas Market Guests of all ages can look forward to this event amidst the stunning backdrop of the park and with a view of beautiful Lake Lucerne. A culinary variety and Rudolf’s cozy Fondue Chalet awaits you with a pre-Christmas get-together with numerous variations of the classic cheese, a select range of wines and an entertainment program.
14 January - 24 January: Light Festival Lucerne „Lilu“ transforms the city into luminous meeting place. Artists from all over the world will present the diverse and fascinating facets of light art.

2027 - St. Moritz

22 January – 24 January: Snow Polo World Cup It is the most important snow polo tournament in the world. Six “high goal” teams, made up of world-class players, offer a unique spectacle on the frozen Lake St. Moritz.
06, 13, and 20 February: White Turf Noble thoroughbred horses and international jockeys will showcase fast-paced gallop and trotting races on the frozen lake, as well as the world-exclusive skijoring event. This undisputed highlight is a spectacular form of racing unique to St. Moritz: Riders are pulled on skis by an unridden thoroughbred at speeds of up to 50 km/h over the 2,700-meter course.
