Highlights & Events 2025/26

In 2025, Vienna will celebrate the 200th anniversary of one of the world’s most famous composers, Johann Strauss II, the 'Waltz King. Walk in his footsteps on a tour, which takes in various sites closely associated with one of Vienna’s most famous sons, including the historic Volksgarten park, where Strauss and his orchestra first performed the 1876 version of the 'Blue Danube Waltz‘. The day concludes with a classical concert at the magnificent Kursalon, the very venue in Vienna where Strauss once charmed crowds with his extraordinary compositions.

The beginning of the year in Vienna is all about the ball season. There is a huge selection of events. Social highlights include the Vienna Opera Ball and the Philharmonic Ball, where the dress code is tailcoats for men and floor-length evening gowns for women. Other highlights include the Confectioners' Ball and the Coffeehouse Owners' Ball, which take place in the Vienna Hofburg. Gentlemen may also wear tuxedos here, while the dress code for ladies is floor-length evening gowns. A special feature is the Hunters' Ball, where guests dance the waltz in traditional costume. The dress code for the balls should not be an obstacle to participation: we are happy to arrange wardrobe rentals for the respective event.

From January 22 to February 1, Salzburg will celebrate the 70th anniversary of the annual Mozart Week and, at the same time, Mozart's 270th birthday with a special program, exciting events, and a new production of Mozart's opera “The Magic Flute” under the direction of Mozart Week's artistic director, Rolando Villazon.

Experience a unique race weekend. From June 26 to June 28, 2026, the Austrian Grand Prix will be held at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. In addition to the Grand Prix race on June 28, the weekend offers a few exciting events such as the Formula 2 race and the Porsche Supercup race. Be a guest at one of the most beautiful Formula 1 race tracks.

The Bregenz Festival takes place every year in July and August. The absolute highlight here is the opera performance on the world's largest lake stage on Lake Constance. The opera productions, always in collaboration with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, are famous for their high-caliber performances, spectacular, oversized stage sets, and unique acoustics. To mark its 80th anniversary, Verdi's masterpiece “La Traviata” will be performed on the lake stage for the first time.
