The Art of Writing
Germany has always been home to many authors and poets, amongst them Goethe, Schiller, Heine and countless others. Even the letterpress was invented in Germany (already in 1450), hence the overall importance of writing, which has been an art for centuries.
Several of the world’s best-known makers of the finest writing instruments have been founded across the country and still predominantly produce here. From fountain pens to crayons, pencils and made-to-order bespoke treasures.
In Southern Germany, a family-owned manufacturer specialises in finest paper, creating approximately 25 different collections of paper to the highest possible quality with an impressive 100.000 product variations. Making one's own paper is a rare joy and something on which to write home about.
